The teachers of Sota Basic School chose two godchildren, a boy and a girl, to Joensuu-Ghana Registered Association. The Association supports them and their families financially. About 1/3 of the school aged children in Sota community have no chance to go to school, either because of poverty or because their help is needed at home.

You don't need to help the whole world, it is a mission impossible, but to help one child or one family is already a lot easier to do.

A talented, six-year-old little girl, who is in kinder garten, class two. In October 2008 our smiling, little goddaughter had already started basic school, she was in class one and was doing very well at school. We met her loving and caring grandmother and visited their home. It was a joy to see that even with a little help you can influence on somebody's life. |

He is a fifteen-year-old boy. It was only two years ago that he got a chance to go to school. His teacher has helped him to catch up his class mates in studies. In October 2008 we were taken to visit also his home. Things were better there,too. Our godson had grown and started his third year at school. |
